Solve water leak from split AC?
How to Repair Split AC Water Leakage - STEP BY STEP
Tools Needed to Repair Water Leakage on AC:
- Screwdriver (to remove the panel)
- Empty bucket (to collect water)
- Shop-Vac vacuum cleaner (for removing excess water and dirt / dust)
How to Fix AC Leakage - Step by Step:
- Turn off the power switch of the AC unit
- Disconnect the AC unit from the mains
- Open the main front panel
- Remove air filters (clean air filters)
- Remove the screws on the front panel (usually 3 or 4 screws)
- Remove the large plastic cover (see video below for details)
- Click on the plastic clips at the bottom to access the drain pipe
- You will see a drain pipe at the bottom of the device.
- Use a bucket to collect water
- Remove any fittings or tape holding the drain pipe to the unit.
- Disconnect the drain pipe from the AC unit
- Allow the pipe to drain the water into a bucket
- If you have an industrial vacuum cleaner, use it to remove water from the pipe
- Secure the drain pipe with a fitting or tape
- Replace the main front panel
- Replace the air filters (make sure the filters are clean)
- Switch on the unit, let it run and check for water leaks
